Biography
Joseph’s career began in military code analysis and communications, advancing to Signals Platoon Commander before serving as a Special Forces medic. His work in secure communication protocols, operational readiness, and high-reliability systems naturally evolved into over 20 years of cybersecurity and network defence experience — forming the foundation of Firegate’s design philosophy.
Education & Background
Joseph holds extensive experience built from both military service and technical training. His early work in military code analysis, communications leadership, and Special Forces medical operations shaped his discipline, precision, and problem-solving approach.
Following his service, he completed a BSc (Hons) in Cybersecurity and earned numerous industry-recognised certifications covering network security, Linux systems, secure gateway design, and encrypted communications. This combination of military discipline and advanced technical training forms the foundation of his work at QuantumSabre and the development of Firegate technology.

Why He Developed Firegate
Joseph developed Firegate™ after seeing how modern cybersecurity products were becoming increasingly dependent on cloud services, subscriptions, data collection, and overly complex management systems.
Drawing from years of hands-on experience in secure infrastructure, network protection, and hardened Linux environments, he believed there should be a simpler and more privacy-focused approach — one that protects the entire network without exposing user data to third parties.
Firegate™ was created to deliver real inline network security in a form that families, home offices, and small businesses can actually deploy and trust. The focus was not on marketing features or cloud dashboards, but on dependable protection, local control, and transparent security architecture designed to operate quietly in the background.
